报告摘要：The presenter has been studying the roles of nutrients in the development of obesity and type 2 diabetes for the past 26 years. Oxidative stress has been attributed to the detrimental effects associated with these chronic metabolic diseases. Recently, Dr. Chen’s lab has set up experiments to test whether excessive dietary supplementations of vitamin C an E, the two antioxidants micronutrients, will prevent the development of type 2 diabetes in Zucker Diabetic fatty rats. This talk is to share some preliminary results with you.
陈国勋 博士 美国田纳西大学教育与人文科学学院教授、博士生导师，兼任北美华人营养学会选举主席，美国糖尿病协会营养科学与代谢研究兴趣小组主席；先后在武汉大学病毒及分子生物学系攻读学士、硕士，美国德州大学西南医学中心获得博士学位，并在湖北省医学科学院病毒所、美国科学院院士Roger H. Unger 博士实验室、诺贝尔获得者Michael Brown和Joseph Goldstein实验室、在美国德州大学西南医学中心从事博士后及相关科学研究工作，曾获得美国国立卫生研究院培训基金、美国心脏病协会营养，运动和代谢委员会新研究员奖等资助和荣誉，担任Open Biotechnology Journal杂志主编，Frontiers in Pharmacology-Gastrointestinal, Hepatic Pharmacology, Food Science and Human Wellness和Journal of Future Foods等杂志的副主编，以及World Journal of Gastroenterology杂志的学术编辑。
